Henri Logelain studied at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Brussels and at the Academia Belgica in Rome. He began exhibiting his work in 1911. He taught at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Louvain and at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Vilvorde. Logelain was a member of the free studio L'Effort, where he met Auguste Oleffe, the Royal Belgian Society of Watercolourists and the Belgian Society of Painters of the Sea. Source: Wikipedia Initially a watercolourist, his favourite subjects were landscapes, still lifes, seascapes, urban views and portraits. A neo-impressionist painter, he had a Fauvist period around 1910. He travelled to the Belgian Congo in 1938, where he painted many portraits of Congolese people. He lived in Ixelles at 178 chaussée de Wavre, then at 126 rue Elise.
