Alexis Guy Korovine, born in Paris in 1928, came from a family of artists, including Constantin Korovine, a Russian Impressionist, and Serge Korovine, a member of the Indépendants group. He studied in various painting studios, including the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, before training as a ceramist. It was not until 1960 that he devoted himself to oil painting. A member of the Artistes Français, he exhibits regularly in Paris and the provinces.

Passionate about landscapes, Korovine seeks to capture their dynamism, their intimate vibrancy and their light. He expresses a nostalgia for fleeting dreams and colourful moments that disappear. His works recreate scenes such as the "mist on the banks of the Marne", the "fog on the àle Saint-Germain" and the "twilight on the Hauts de Meudon", favouring minor tones and a reconstitution of spaces through successive planes and vanishing lines.

Korovine is distinguished by his melancholic approach and his quest for formal beauty in the solitude of things. He avoids pigeon-holing influences and styles, preferring to develop a personal poetic vision. His paintings from nature, which he sees as scales, evolve through a constant search for nuance and a transformation of realities into dreams and fleeting expressions.

He invites us to the silent contemplation of his dreamlike landscapes, transforming everyday scenes into poetic, contrasting visions.
