ZIMMER, René (Saint-Mard, 1910 - Florenville, 1998). Painter. Self-taught. He began painting when he discovered the work of Nestor Outer, who was his drawing teacher at the Athénée de Virton. Later contacts with André Gillet convinced him to pursue this path. Finds his inspiration mainly in the Gaume landscape and small rural villages. Captures the simplicity and soul of his subjects.
