From 1945 to 1953, she took correspondence painting courses at the ABC school in Paris. Self-taught, she later became a student of Albert Raty. Very often they go for a walk together along the Semois and, several times a week, the two painters paint in situation, in nature. Albert Raty always installs his easel behind that of Yvonne Tellier. They observe each other and it is through looks and a few sounds that the artist learns to understand, little by little.
She died in the spring of 2007, at the age of 89.
