Jean-Paul Emonds-Alt was a Belgian designer, sculptor, draughtsman and painter who was born on January 25, 1928 in Etterbeek and died on August 13, 2014 at the age of 86. He was a drawing teacher and workshop leader in the "Design" section at La Cambre. He also taught drawing at the Académie de Boisfort near Brussels. Jean-Paul Emonds-Alt, who devoted himself primarily to design from 1964 onwards, is the author of the "M" for the Brussels metro.
In the 2000s, he began a series of drawings on cardboard under glass entitled "ma guerre en carton" ("my war in cardboard"). Mainly devoted to the D-Day landings and the Battle of the Bulge.
