Painter, wood engraver, etcher. Trained with Montald at the Brussels Academy. Predilection for landscapes, figures, genre paintings and still lifes. Contacts with Wouters, Tytgat and Brusselmans. Begins in an Impressionist style and evolves towards tempered Fauvism. Around 1907, he began to draw his inspiration mainly from Walloon folklore and processions. During the First World War, he fled to London and spent a further year in Paris. His art was oriented towards a greater synthesis of form. Later, he returned to Fauvism with its luminist tendencies.
Works in the Museums of Brussels and Ixelles. Mentioned in BAS 1 and in “Deux Siècles de Signatures d'Artistes de Belgique“.
