Painter in Touraine, Prix de Rome, teacher at the Brassart school. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse, but it wasn't until 1960 that he decided to devote himself exclusively to painting. Maurice Genevoix of the Académie française. He worked with Lorjou, Buffet, Rebeyrolle, Jansem, Collomb and others, all of whom are famous today. It was gallery owner Raymond Duncan, whom he met at the Quai de Seine, who pushed him to cross the the Atlantic. He exhibited in New York and won the Prix d'Amérique in 1965. From then on, his success continued: private exhibitions in London, Lausanne, Frankfurt, Brussels, Saint-Paul de Vence and, of course, Paris. He then exhibited in Rome, the United Arab United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Moscow (Pushkin Museum), Leningrad (Hermitage Museum), Quebec and as far afield as Japan. He has also won numerous awards: Gold Medal at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1970 and Medal of Honor in 1993 - Grand Prix at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1988 - Guest of Honor at the guest of honor at the International Biennial in Quebec City in 1988. In terms of technique, his painting is characterized by harmony, naturalness, authenticity and love of a job well done. with a dominant use of yellows, ochres and sienna, which capture the light and give the painting an inimitable warmth. Sometimes cubist in construction, always impressionistic in the play of light, Jean Abadie's work represents a synthesis of different pictorial techniques. His many notebooks enable him to render scenes of moving interiority.
