Beautiful oil on canvas (69x50 cm) with a fine frame (85x75 cm) by Schleiper of Brussels.
After brilliant studies as a painter at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Liège, he travelled around Europe and exhibited in various French cities. From 1972, the artist found an audience in Parisian show business; Michel Sardou bought one of his works. His inspiration crystallised around the female stereotype: nudes tinged with eroticism or faces of idealised beauty accompanied by heavenly birds or felines. The decorative aspect of his canvases made them ideal subjects for posters, postcards, book covers, posters (Francofolies, La Rochelle, 1985), record labels and record sleeves. In 1985, he produced the Totems for F.R.3, the awards given to entertainers. His ornamental graphics can be found in the murals of Huy and Chez Max, a restaurant in Liège. Source: KIK-IRPA
