Kees VAN DONGEN (1877-1968), Painters Witnessing Their Time, 1955, lithographic poster (after) signed in the plate, 75 x 51.5 cm, Mourlot printing.

Kees Van Dongen, of Dutch origin, settled in Paris in 1899. After working as an illustrator, he participated in the Fauvist movement alongside Matisse. An atypical personality with an exuberant lifestyle, some of his paintings were considered outrageous at the time due to their color or subject matter.
