Biography:
Jean-Claude Mahey (1944–) comes from a family of decorative painters. JCM graduated from the École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués in Paris in 1966. Ten years later, he founded his contemporary furniture design company. Working closely with his wife, Betty Mahey, they have presented numerous designs that have been distributed in France and around the world. Using elegant materials such as lacquer, precious metals, rich woods, and marble, Mahey's creations are crafted in their own workshop. In 1992, they opened their showroom in the center of Paris and gradually brought their children, Cecilia and Maxence, into the business.
Work often compared to or attributed to Willy Rizzo (Mario Sabot edition) or Romeo Rega.
