Designed by Angelo Mangiarotti, Eros is a collection of marble tables born from research into joinery methods that require no mechanisms or hardware. For Eros tables, the solution involves a gravity-based interlocking between the tabletop and the vertical support, achieved through the truncated conical section of the base, which easily accommodates the horizontal element and locks it in place. Meanwhile, the weight of the marble increases the strength and stability of the entire structure. This system is available in numerous table shapes and sizes, each with a unique joining point between the elements. The elegant design of the open slots around the perimeter of the tabletops is achieved by eliminating components that are not essential to the table's stability and strength. The Eros table by Mangiarotti is a true innovation in terms of construction.
