An emblematic light, a great classic of modernist design influenced by Art Deco.

Eileen Gray (1878-1976) was an Irish designer and architect. She is best known for incorporating luxurious lacquer finishes on furniture in the Art Deco aesthetic and then moving on to international-style tubular steel-framed furniture in the 1920s.

Eileen Gray stands out for her unique and versatile approach, blending traditional craftsmanship with modernism, unlike Le Corbusier and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, who favoured clean lines and industrial structures. His ability to fuse aesthetics and functionality rivalled the work of Marcel Breuer and Charlotte Perriand, but Gray also incorporated a personal artistic sensibility often absent from his contemporaries. Her creations, such as the E-1027 table, combine technical innovation with elegance, making her a singular and pioneering figure in a milieu dominated by more uniform approaches to modernist design and architecture.
Today, she is part of the 'Pantheon' of architects and designers who have left their mark on this discipline. Posthumous exhibitions and the designation of some of her works as historic monuments bear witness to this.

The French company JUMO was founded in the 1940s by Yves Juneau and Pierre and André Monique.
