E.Val & Schneider : French art deco lamp... 1930 France

A cute French 1925-1930 art deco night lamp in nickel plated solid brass and a shade by Schneider in coloured glass. A colour that in the Schneider catalogues its refered to as Tango. E.Val was a silversmith with his shop at 218 rue du Feaubourg Saint-Martin. Innitialy the company used mainly Bohemian glasses. But 1925 onwards Val made a small line of little lamps using Schneider shades. Often sellers try to sell Val signed pieces as being a Daum branch (Verreries d'art Lorrain)... incorrect of coarse.
Added to the pictures a page out of the book by Guiseppe Cappa, La Genie Verrier de l'Europe, page 428, about E.Val. Here below some pics of old Val catalogues.
The mounting of the lamp is signed with the usual Val signature. The Schneider shade is unsigned. The lamp is in excellent condition. The mounting is newly renickeled and patinated. No chips or cracks to the shade. It is 15,1 cm high. And it comes newly wired with stylish cotton covered twisted wire and nice european E14 socket. For the States or Japan I will rewire the lamp with a US candelabra base socket and US 2-prong plug.
