Refined lamp in black-lacquered metal with gilded decoration of cranes - a symbol of longevity and happiness - and stylized vegetation. Formerly a kerosene lamp mounted on a bronze base in the Japanese style. The double gourd-shaped body, typical of Japanese aesthetics, is finely decorated with hand-painted scenes of elegant cranes, flowers and symbolic rocks. The period lampshade, in hand-painted paper on canvas, repeats this naturalistic motif with stylized cranes and trees. Decorative and collector's item. Period: late 19th / early 20th century.
