Pair of Louis XV Rocaille Large Lamps / Firedogs/ Andirons in gilt bronze (Ormolu) chiseled from the Louis XV period, about 1750.
High quality of carving, gilding with fine period gold. Each chenet is unique, different in its design and production (see images), it is a real pair ( in the style of Jacques Caffieri).
Very stable, new electricity, black fabric braided electric wire, old bakelite switches.

The Louis XV style was initially a characteristic style of seating, which later influenced all the arts of its time. This style, which draws part of its inspiration from nature, is characterized by its lightness and a search for privacy and comfort. Succeeding the Regency style, the Louis XV style developed mainly in the second quarter of the 18th century.
