Pierre Maynadier & Muller freres
A wonderful 1925-1930 French art deco lamp in nickel plated bronze or solid brass of excellent quality. The finely detailed base holds a nice shade in clear frosted molded-pressed glass produced by the famous Muller glass factory in Luneville France. It is signed 'Muller freres Luneville'. The lamp was made by Pierre Maynadier. Maynadier had a manufactory producing high quality art deco lighting during the interbellum in Paris (25 rue Saint-Sébastien). In the late 30s they started to make lighting in pressed brass in a modernist style. After the war his son took over and the grandson after him. The firm finaly closed its doors in 1966. In the 20s Maynadier predominantly used Muller freres made shades for his fixtures. The base is represented in an old Maynadier product catalog from the late 20s with a cheaper dome in rather thin pressed glass. Later versions showed up with the Muller bowl like the lamp on offer as well as one with a Maynadier signed Muller made dome.
The lamp is in excellent condition. I have replated and patinated the base. No chips or cracks to the shade. The lamp is 37 cm (14-1/2) high. And the shade has a diameter of 16.5 cm (6-1/2).
It is rewired with new cloth covered twisted cord and is equiped with a E14 socket so you can use our normal light bulbs for it. For the USA or Japan I will place an American candelabra base socket and US 2-prong plug.
