Ovid's "The Art of Love," illustrated with prints by Salvador Dali. The Art of Love (Ars amatoria in Latin) is a work in verse by the Latin poet Ovid, published around the year 1. It is intended as an initiation into the art of love and especially seduction, the Latin word amare meaning first and foremost to be someone's lover or mistress.

This copy is numbered 115, which corresponds to an edition of 100 copies on Grand Vélin d'Arches paper, signed in pencil by Dali. Folio (556 x 378 mm). 15 original color engravings by Salvador Dali (one lithograph and one double-page etching, 13 full-page woodcuts). Each engraving has a serpente with a title in red. Publisher's binding in brown half-morocco with a band, tan central band on the covers with blind-stamped motif, ribbed spine and decorated boxes, gilt top edge on witnesses (slight reports). The suite is included in a brown half-morocco folder.
