Ovid's "The Art of Love," illustrated by prints by Salvador Dali. The Art of Love (Ars amatoria in Latin) is a work in verse by the Latin poet Ovid, published around the year 1. It is intended as an initiation into the art of love and especially seduction, the Latin word amare initially meaning to be someone's lover or mistress.

This copy is number 115, corresponding to an edition of 100 copies on Arches Grand Vélin paper, signed in pencil by Dalí. Folio (556 x 378 mm). 15 original color engravings by Salvador Dalí (one lithograph and one double-page etching, 13 full-page wood engravings). Each engraving has a tissue guard with a red title. Publisher's binding in half brown morocco with a band, a central tan band on the covers with a blind-stamped design, raised bands on the spine with decorated compartments, top edge gilt (minor shifts). The suite of prints is contained in a half brown morocco slipcase.
