Rare original manuscript in turquoise ink, by Arthur Masson, a famous Belgian and Walloon writer, well known for his talent as a writer and poet. As a singer of the Mosan countryside, he described the life of the little people and villages, with humor but also depth. As a result, he has been compared to the likes of Daudet and Marcel Pagnol. This manuscript is the original draft of his play Le nouveau mait' d'école (Li Nouvia Mwaisse Di Scole in Walloon) published in 1948, as well as part of his novel Cayauval, Gai Village published in 1951. The manuscript is unsigned but has been authenticated as being in Arthur Masson's hand, and bears the dry stamp of his home in Tailfer (Lustin) Les Acremonts, where he lived from 1946 until his wife's death. His novels are still published today. He wrote some thirty novels (Toile Culot, obèse ardennais - La farce des oiseaux et autres contes - Toine, Maà¯eur de Trignolles ...) and several plays (Le nouveau Mait' d'école - Le Tour de France à Trignolles - La Grande Ducasse, suivie de Li Lette Di Nouvel An). The writing date of 1948 can be deduced from the fact that the play was published in 1949. A rare work that deserves to be in a museum. The appraisal was carried out in May 2024. The photos show only part of the manuscript, which comprises 164 pages.
