This small bowl, carved from a block of marble, comes from the Iberian Peninsula and dates back to the 3rd millennium BC.
Simple and elegant in form, it features a circular bowl with slightly flared sides, revealing great mastery in the shaping of hard stone.
The choice of marble, a noble material that is difficult to work, suggests that it was reserved for a specific context, probably funerary or ritual.
The absence of decoration and the careful polishing suggest a sober but refined aesthetic, characteristic of certain Chalcolithic products from south-western Europe.
