SIOB "the clown" painting oil on canvas

Under the pseudonym "Siob", the artist has been painting and sculpting professionally for over 35 years. He was born in 1963 in a secluded corner of deepest France, not far from Angoulême in the Charente region - perhaps the reason for his vivid imagination, which he has always transposed onto his canvases, marbles and bronzes. At the age of 27, his decisive meeting with Prince Decroy led to the sale of his first canvas and the birth of his vocation. He then adopted oil painting, which remains his medium to this day. Fascinated by the antics of his fellow artists, passionate and inspired from the start, he threw himself wholeheartedly into his work, creating hundreds of canvases and sculptures in a style all his own. Siob surprises, innovates or disturbs (as the case may be); he portrays the human being in a new light. A confirmed artistic career earned him a meeting with the current sovereigns at the inauguration of his sculpture "Les Naïades", installed in the main courtyard of the Musée de la Famenne in Marche (1997). Several of the artist's works are now part of public collections. The main themes of his work are politics, humor and a certain aspect of the bourgeoisie. His style is somewhere between Dutch painting, art nouveau and geometry. He doesn't paint the figurative, he suggests it...
