Michel Biot was born into a family steeped in art, philosophy and science. Introduced to art as a child, he explored nature through meticulous drawings, discovering details through a microscope. Biot entered the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon in 1952, but felt at odds with academic teaching. Instead, he turned his attention to poetry, philosophy and painting. In 1959, he moved to Paris, working in Robert Lapoujade's studio and socializing with renowned intellectuals and artists. On his return to France, he settled in Boulogne-Billancourt, continuing to paint series inspired by nature. His themes evolved with his travels, covering nebulae, milky ways, waves, lights and lunar landscapes. He presented over 90 exhibitions from 1964 onwards. Michel Biot died on April 24, 2020 in Issy-les-Moulineaux, at the age of 83, and is buried in Boulogne-Billancourt.
