Abstract work produced in 1963, characteristic of Louis-Marie Londot's research into materials and textures. A Belgian artist active in the 1960s, Londot explored the expressive possibilities of the surface by incorporating relief elements into his compositions.
Biography:
Louis-Marie Londot was born on 11 March 1924 in Namur (Belgium) and died on 15 December 2010 in Bioul (Belgium). A master of polychromatic sacred art, he evolved towards abstract art with simple and even sometimes anecdotal subjects, but an art always dominated by colours and the artistic richness of their contrast. He then moved on to Pop Art and took part in the ‘Pop Art' exhibition at the Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels in 1965. The Maison de la Culture in Namur devoted an exhibition to him in 1978 and a catalogue was published in 2105 during an exhibition devoted to him at the Maison de la Culture in Namur.
