A pair of Louis XVI red Languedoc marble and gilt bronze covered vases mounted on balusters. They rest on a rectangular plinth with concave angles and a neoclassical round foot.
The rich, finely chased and well-proportioned gilded bronze applications are decorated with detailed ornamentation of bows and ribbons, sheaves of wheat, foliage, a shepherdess's hat and wreathed staff.
Attached to the narrow necks of the balusters, swan necks protrude from acanthus leaves and bend down to grasp the ends of the ribbons to form handles.
The lid is topped with a pinecone.
