In perfect condition, unsigned.
This Western-themed sculpture depicts a mountain man riding a horse up a steep and dangerous rocky slope. A dramatic episode in the daily life of an Iroquois trapper, riding down an almost vertical slope. Man and horse work together to descend a rocky and dangerous slope. The rider suddenly leans back and balances himself by holding the tail strap with his right hand. The rider suddenly leans back and balances holding the tail strap with his right hand. His horse shakes nervously and lifts a hind leg and a front hoof as the pair descend the mountain. The rider pulls on the rein with one hand and balances himself with the other, leaning back in the saddle. Together, rider and horse continue their descent, carefully and with each tense movement. This bronze represents one of the most revered and popular genres of the American Western.
