Beautiful 1993 work by the artist who died 2 almost 2 years ago from an important art collection in the Namur region. Possibility to buy the work without the frame. Marcel Hocq is a self-taught Belgian painter, sculptor and expressionist ceramist, born in 1933. After gradually freeing himself from various artistic currents, his work ends up translating all the strength of a renewed expressionism through solidly framed paintings whose "sobriety of the means accentuates the poetic climate". If he is inspired by childhood memories with nostalgia (fairgrounds, rides, circuses, engagement and weddings), if he likes animals (cats, goats and horses), the woman remains, nevertheless, the centre of her concerns; he represents her with an impassive and serene face, only illuminated by large vague eyes that stare at the distance. His paintings exhibited both in Belgium and abroad are found in the private (Belgium, France, Canada, Netherlands, Germany, Spain) and public collections (collections of the Belgian State, the Walloon Region, the Province of Namur, the cities of Kaprijke, Sambreville).
