Details
Set of 6 Cesca B32 chairs by designer Marcel Breuer (1902-1981). Composed of a chromed steel tubular structure, the seats and backrests are caned in a black lacquered beech frame.
The Cesca chair, designed by Marcel Breuer in 1928, is an icon of modernist design. Named after his daughter Francesca, the Cesca chair was one of the first pieces of furniture to use a tubular steel frame, an innovation inspired by the handlebars of a bicycle. This chromed steel structure, combined with a seat and backrest in rattan cane, combines lightness, flexibility and durability. The Cesca embodies the Bauhaus aesthetic, and its design has had a lasting impact on design.
These chairs are in beautiful vintage condition, showing signs of age-related wear and tear such as rust pitting on the metal frame (particularly on 2 chairs) and a few light dings on the beech frames.
