Painter. Naive style. Marie Howet's pupil, but nevertheless essentially self-taught. In particular, he painted Ardennes village paintings, figures and flowers. Each painting is a colourful story of the bourgeoisie, loggers, gypsies, potato snatchers, marriages, births, holidaymakers, infirms, children, hunters, harvesters and village life. In the press: "L.M. is above all a storyteller, a popular storyteller. He tells stories of villages and gypsies. His works abound with meticulously observed characters." Work acquired by the State in 1960 and 1962. Mentioned in "Two Centuries of Signatures of Artists of Belgium".
