Superb watercolor by the famous artist Raphael Kirchner, from the Maison de l'aquarelle.
Raphael Kirchner (1875-1917) was an Austrian painter, draftsman, illustrator, lithographer and caricaturist.
Steeped in Art Nouveau, he is considered one of the inventors of the pin-up.
He was a friend of Mucha and Károly Józsa.
He died in New York on August 2, 1917.
Kirchner began drawing fashion in 1914 in New York.
He was one of the great figures of illustration in the 1900s.
He worked on illustrations for major magazines.
Like Mucha, he also produced advertisements for perfumes.
