Important Italian double pedestal executive office desk, manufactured around 1962 by MIM Roma Furniture for the designers Ico Parisi and Alexandro Ferrari, a design icon!
Table top, panels and drawers made of rosewood veneer, detached cast aluminium and anodised aluminium base spacer and legs.
In superb condition, note that the key to the drawers is missing.

Ico Parisi was born in Palermo in 1916. He obtained a degree in construction and apprenticed in the workshop of Giuseppe Terragni. In 1937 he made a photographic study of the Casa del Fascio for the magazine Quadrante.
His activity was marked by continuous experimentation, consisting of incessant research in the fields of architecture, art and design. Between 1948 and 1950 he devoted himself to the study of furniture elements. Crucial encounters with Munari, Fontana (1951), and Melotti had a profound impact on his experience.
In 1948, together with his wife Luisa Aiani, a planner and designer, he founded the La Ruota studio, which ceased its activity in 1995.
In 1954 he won the gold medal at the 10th Milan Triennial with the work "Padiglione soggiorno" with Silvio Longhi and Luigi Antonietti.
In 1957 he presented the work "Casa per vacanze" at the exhibition "Colori e forme della casa d'oggi", the result of a collaboration with Manlio Rho, Francesco Somaini and Gian Paolo Allevi.
He died in Como in 1996.
