Eugène Colignon was born on March 23, 1876 in Namur.
Painting signed and dated at the bottom right. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Namur where he was a student of Désiré Merny (1865-1947). He continued his studies at the Brussels Academy with Isidore Verheyden. Eugène Colignon is influenced by the Tervuren school, by T. Baron and by Neo-Impressionism. It excels in the representation of snowy landscapes. Eugène Colignon died in Beez on January 28, 1961. Wikipedia source
