Désiré LOUETTE (1935-): « Before the dark night » acrylic
Born on July 8, 1935. He has been drawing since childhood and will undertake engraving studies with Professur L. Moyano. Then, he diligently pursues an education in illustration and design from The Famous Artists School. Self-taught painter, he participates in many exhibitions in Belgium and abroad. His career evolves through periods marked by themes treated according to different styles:
1970-1980:
surrealism and symbolism.
1980-1990:
fantastic.
Since 1990 :
more abstract compositions and syntheses of landscapes.
During a long itinerary, Désiré Louette integrated the landscape in a very personal way in a research leading to the abstract. He therefore decants reality into forms and tones that structure his compositions without making one forget the contemplation of large spaces. Far from a cold abstraction, we have here a lyrical interpretation of nature, sometimes underlined by a discreet allusion to the human presence. The free and rigorous work of the artist is inseparable from a sensitivity that sumptuously transcribes the soul of the Ardennes "
