Monin" gate: Porte de Sambre. In the style of Louis XIII, this monumental limestone gateway was commissioned from François Waneson by the magistrates of Namur. Framed by two Tuscan split pilasters, the basket-handle gateway rests on projecting imposts. The key bears the inscription: "CHARLE / DU / MONIN / BOURG / MRE / 1644 / JACQUE / MALEVE / SECOND / ESLEV". Above, architrave with profiled ends adorned with drops, bare frieze with console and triglyphs, under profiled cornice.
